Just back from 2 weeks in Gassano, stayed one week in Casa Fina and one week in Lo Studio and had the most idyllic holiday - both had their own special touch of Italy, the terrace on the roof is amazing and views spectacular, I will return hopefully very soon! Gassano is a typical Italian village the locals made me most welcome and embraced me into their culture. Ella's Bar is where I spent most evenings after a long day travelling around Tuscany....the local red wine is very special - and Ella is the perfect hostess.

We found the Studio Apartment to be ideal for our needs, it is well located for visiting the major tourist sites as well as being off the beaten track if you want to chill out ....................

The views looking over the green landscape to the mountains is stunning. We had dinner on the roof terrace every evening. Casa Fina was a home away from home, it provides everything a family would need and enough comfortable space to relax in. I had my coffee every morning on the balcony greeting the friendly local villagers as they walked past with their supplies from the local shops. The village is beautiful, we walked down to the bar every evening after dinner. Definitely hire a car to experience driving the winding mountain roads and take in the breath-taking views. The children were happy swimming in the local rivers, the outdoor pool in a nearby town and the sea not too far away. This was a surprisingly affordable family holiday as it is in rural Tuscany, off the beaten track, there are no tourist prices, good bottles of vino rosso and prosecco for 1€ and a pizza in a local pizzeria for 4€. I am not going to say any more because I would like to keep Gassano and the local area the hidden tourist free gem of a secret that it is.
